Faarufushi is ringed by one of the more accessible and vibrant house reefs of Raa Atoll, entered straight from the beach or from the drop-off jetty near Eclipse Bar. The reef edge falls away sharply into a deep channel, which is what brings pelagic life close in: blacktip and whitetip reef sharks, eagle rays, turtles, moray eels, octopus and stingrays are regular sightings. The currents that feed the corals also make it a reef to read before entering.
