Marine Biology Centre Programme
Hurawalhi's Marine Biology Centre, run with Prodivers, is staffed by a resident marine biologist who studies the house reef and the wider Lhaviyani Atoll. The programme mixes ecological survey work with guest-facing workshops, presentations and guided trips, and places particular emphasis on reef manta rays: 101 individuals have been identified around the resort's sandbank, with a 49.5 per cent re-sighting rate. The atoll is credited with over 2,000 fish species and more than 200 coral varieties.
