Scuba Diving
Diving is the historic reason Vadoo exists - the island was a diving base from the earliest days of Maldivian tourism, and the house reef channel is still rated among the best in South Male Atoll. The SSI centre runs try-dives for beginners, full certifications and specialities, with shore dives on the house reef and boat dives to Vadoo Caves, Lionshead, Vellassaru Outside and Embudoo Express. Depths on the house reef run from 2 to 35 metres, with turtles, white-tip and grey sharks and eagle rays regularly seen.
