COMO Maalifushi is one of the few Maldivian resorts built with surfing in mind, working with the luxury outfitter Tropicsurf, whose full-time guide is based on the island from April to October. Guides read currents, wind, tide and swell each morning to pick the day's break. Farms, in Thaa Atoll itself, is about 25 minutes by speedboat and works for beginners and experienced surfers alike; the Machine in Laamu is a demanding right-hander for advanced surfers, and Kasabu in Dhaalu is reached on a Surf Pass.
